Arriving early, we were welcomed by pleasant staff in the restaurant on the first floor who explained when our room would be ready and gave us some ideas for how to enjoy our time in the interim. It’s a very easy walk from the auberge to the public area at the lakefront, as well as to the Magazin (a nice little general store with great baked goods), and various historic spots. There is no shortage of scenic photo ops close by! On a clear night, be sure to visit the little nearby park where you can look up at the stars from benches intentionally built with reclined backs to make stargazing more comfortable.

We used it as an overnight stop before skiing at Jay Peak the next day and everything went as seamlessly as it possibly could have, the insides were clean, the hosts were friendly, and the morning breakfast was an extra bonus and something we didn’t expect going into it.
