We stayed on our way to catch the ferry home from Caen. It was very easy to find and a stunning property steeped in history. The rooms were fascinating and we felt welcomed by Joseph and Ogen who were friendly and explained the history and restoration of the property which dates from 1260. The rooms that we stayed in had a modern shower bathroom between them and beautifully soft bathrobes and large towels were provided. We requested the evening meal and it was the best food we had eaten on our entire holiday, we were also asked for any dietary requests as well. Creatively prepared leek vinagrette opened the meal, local vegetables and deliciously moist cod for the main course and the meal finished with fresh strawberries and homemade Chantilly cream. They had a fully stocked bar which complemented the meal. It was a truly unique stay and would love to return when the weather would allow us to use the outdoor pool! We had breakfast the next day which consisted of fresh croissants and jam and Ogen also made some divine scrambled eggs with chives.

An absolutely delightful overnight stay in this magnificent place. The whole place has been beautifully restored, and our host was such a nice man. Nothing was too much trouble. I highly recommend a stay here. The breakfast was fabulous with a great selection of home made jams and honey.

I discovered this place from its glowing reviews on this site, and I am delighted to add my own rave review here. Le Couvent was a marvelous find. From its historic origins to its stunning views, it exceeded our expectations in every way. We enjoyed our walks around the town and the view from the hill above Le Couvent; we had a tasty dinner at the village's one restaurant; and then, after a blissful night's sleep in an elegantly decorated room, we feasted on a healthy and delicious breakfast. We will remember this special place and its warm and welcoming hosts for many years to come.

Chambre d'hôte Le jardin des Thermes se encuentra en Vichy, en la región de Auvernia, a 4,4 km de Hipódromo de Vichy. From start to finish I was made extremely welcome by my Hostess. Everything was as described and more. A beautiful house in a fantastic location for the city centre and the Racecourse. Excellent value for money. A real gem.
