Bukit Lawang
Asim Paris Guesthouse & jungle trekking has a garden, private beach area, a terrace and restaurant in Bukit Lawang. Boasting a concierge service, this property also provides guests with a barbecue. The accommodation offers a 24-hour front desk, airport transfers, room service and free WiFi. Best place to stay in Bukit Lawang!! Beautiful location right on the river, surrounded by nature and beautiful views, a retreat from the busy-ness of town. It is only a short motorbike ride into town, and you can walk ~10 mins to get to an alfamart/indomaret. I did 2 days jungle trekking with Andi who was a great guide. We saw lots of orangutans and other wildlife, and he shared a lot of great information about the jungle. I went with a group and he was very attentive with the guests and everyone's different needs and comfort levels with the hiking. Dika, Dedek, and the rest of the family were so friendly and happy to answer any questions or help with anything, and make an amazing breakfast which is included. Andi arranged a car to and from the airport. Wifi was functional most of the time, which was helpful because I spent a lot of time working remotely in the restaurant. Bed in my room was very firm and comfortable, which is important to note because some different guesthouses where I've stayed have had very squishy, sinking beds. Bathroom has good showerhead water pressure, a western style toilet, and bidet. They provide toilet paper if needed. Towels also provided. Screens on windows prevent mosquitos from getting inside, and there is a fan inside the room for when it gets hot. Overall, a beautiful place to stay and a family business that makes you feel like family. Highly recommend!

Sabang
All units at the guest house are equipped with a seating area. The guest house provides certain units that include sea views, and every unit has a private bathroom and a desk. The units will provide guests with a wardrobe and a kettle. - Watching the magnificent view of your private bay from the hammock. - Falling asleep and waking up to the sound of the waves. - The bungalow having hotel like luxuries like a mini fridge, your own drink water tank and coffee and tea supplies. - The roofless shower. But most of all: The delightful hosts who will do anything in their power to make you feel as comfortable as possible and deliver the services that you may want or need. They are genuinely good people who really care about you, the community and also the environment. Tips: - Go have dinner with them at least once. Yuyun is a really good cook. And there is a future restaurant in the making! - Ask Borja for tips what to do around the island and where to get the best coffee. - Rent a scooter from the hosts to see the island. They are safe, well-maintained and helmets available. - Rent snorkel equipment from the hosts. (One of) the most beautiful snorkeling spot(s) is right in front of you. - If you want to go diving, make sure to enquire about it with Borja and Yuyun as they are both divemasters.

Great homestay in Bukit Lawang, very clean, very cosy huge bed and AC! The owner arranged a Jungle tour for us and our guide Jonny did an awesome job! We saw a lot of orang Utans and a lot of other animals, he knew a lot about the animals and the jungle which was great!
The food was also really good! Can’t recommend this place enough
Bukit Lawang
At the guest house, every unit is equipped with a wardrobe. A patio with an outdoor dining area and mountain views is offered in every unit. At the guest house, each unit is fitted with bed linen and towels. I did the 2 day/1 night Trek. The 2 guides Rian and Santa were the best guides I’ve encountered anywhere in all my years of traveling. They were so kind, funny and thoughtful. The food on the trek was phenomenal and it really was a wonderful experience. The property is great, with a beautiful lush green garden.

The guest house features river views, an outdoor fireplace and a 24-hour front desk. Staff is amazing, food is great and also the location which is deeper in the jungle. Only accessible by motorbike, but the staff is super flexible and take you up and down to the town whenever you want (not needed and not expected but we tipped them a bit every time). We saw so many orangutans with them! Even when taking the trip to the batcave, but I think we were lucky. Would definitely recommend Batu Kapal!

It is all about location, location, location. The view is exceptional. Room was clean, quiet, and very comfortable. Nice bed. Robert was a great host and super helpful. The homestay is still relatively new, but he's been in the area for years and knows it very well. Took a one day tour with him and a few other guests. It was fantastic. Things, culture, people, and places I never would have found otherwise. Wish I could have stayed longer.
Great hosts, nice food, good beds, cheap and good scooter for rent (120idr per day including gasoline and helmets). Great value for money!
We had a great time at the guesthouse. Brian is a great host and is mindful of his community and the environment. He invests in those who have need of it. We arranged our jungletrek through Brian and had a great time spending two nights on the jungle with Brosit and the guys. We lacked nothing and learned a lot about the animals we saw. Great experience!
The hostel is located right on the calmer parts of the ocean on a lagoon. It is an amazing property with wonderful people, great host Arif and his lovely family who runs this place. The two surfing spots are around 20 minutes drive each, which make this location quite quiet, and the hostel has very good social vibes, and overall a place where you will come for 2 days and end up staying 2 weeks.
The guest house is located within walking distance to town centre/market. Room is spacious for one, I had very nice sleep. The host and his family are very friendly and helpful in giving travel advices. I went to the Mt. Sibayak tour with them which I really enjoyed. Price is depends one the group size but it's reasonably cheaper from what you can get from Klook. Few options for breakfast to choose from which is lovely!
The bungalows are super cute! The hosts are lovely, speak excellent English, and organised a pick-up from the bus station. You can get some food and drinks at the guesthouse for cheap, and the walking street is not far. Room and bathroom are kept clean. Basic room, but comfortable. Only three bungalows, so it can be booked out very fast!
Clean and quiet homestay. Great host, he provided information and was very interesting talking with. Comfortable beds, hot shower (just short, because the boiler is small).
Great location in Bukit Lawang, lovely grounds and outlook directly over the river. Beautiful teak rooms with outstanding bathroom facilities. Rooms and the whole guesthouse are spotlessly clean. Very comfortable beds and importantly, a quiet room upstairs . Indra and Nana, and all the staff are wonderful, and very friendly. The restaurant food is great - you wouldn't even need to go elsewhere to eat. Thankyou Indra and Nana.
This guesthouse is well located on a quiet street near to good restaurants and the centre of town but its key asset is Erwin - the guesthouse director. He is warm and friendly and takes his time to chat to everyone and to help you organise tours. A true host. Note: many other reviews mentioned the noisy bar next door. I wonder if they’ve toned it down lately? We heard music but it wasn’t loud and didn’t go late.
The View guest house has stunning views overlooking Air Manis. Wonderful, friendly, helpful host. Clean rooms and a good breakfast. Walking distance to beachside village and Air Manis. Also possible to walk into town along a quiet cement trail with lovely trees etc. (pedestrians and the odd motorbike only). You can see monkeys along the trail and also some interesting Chinese graves. The guesthouse is in the perfect spot. Beautiful sunsets from verandah and front rooms.
