Situated in Tuk Tuk, Matraville Home Stay Tuk Tuk Lake Toba Samosir features accommodation with seating area. This property offers access to a terrace and free private parking. The guest house has family rooms. Our three-night stay at Matraville Homestay was a very welcome change-of-pace after jungle treks and volcano hikes in Bukit Lawang and Berestagi. Our unit was VERY large (it would have easily suited a family of four) and well-appointed with a TV, fridge, sink and kettle for use. It was also spread over two levels, with the downstairs serving as the entrance/living room area/kitchenette, and the bedroom and bathroom/separate shower area upstairs. BONUS(ES): the unit entrance featured a little patio with a table and chair where you could have an early-morning coffee or tea while facing the sunrise; the upstairs level also provided a small balcony area to take in the morning sun or evening dusk. While the room we chose was across the street from the water (a 90-second walk at most, down a couple of shallow flights of steps, and therefore didn’t provide a direct waterfront view), there are two rooms available in another portion of the property that face the water and are just steps from it. Our excellent Host, Dimmer, picked us up from the Tuk Tuk ferry landing (and can also drop you off when you depart) and will provide you with everything you might need to make your stay comfortable, including tips on places to eat or have coffee nearby and suggestions for what to do/see on Samosir Island. He will also provide scooters for daily/multi-day use for very reasonable rates.

This beachfront property offers access to a terrace, free private parking and free WiFi. The accommodation offers airport transfers, while a bicycle rental service is also available. My room was just on the river bank and i can just sitting there watching the river whole day.

Best place ever to chill and feel part of the jungle. I did not want to leave. The food is incredible and all the team are so friendly. There is free private parking and the property provides paid airport shuttle service. The place was in a quiet location, not far from Bukit Lawang village. Our room was very clean, the staff were very helpful and the food was good at a good price.

All units at the guest house are equipped with a seating area. The guest house provides certain units that include sea views, and every unit has a private bathroom and a desk. The units will provide guests with a wardrobe and a kettle. The snorkeling in front of the bungalows is good. Borja and YunYun are very accomodating. Services like scooter rental and laundry are offered. There is also a dog (give him some nice scratches to become friends). The bungalows were also very nice.

Host was so nice and helpful, clean and large room with aircon, great food at their restaurant (1 mins walking). great value for money!

Guests can make use of the sun terrace or the outdoor fireplace, or enjoy views of the mountain and river. Absolutely loved the staff, Risky, Gibran, Arif and Aria and all the staff were so welcoming and helpful that we will keep in touch with them. The location is stunning and we had an amazing time in the jungle trekking and saw lots of Orangutans. The village 15 minute walk away is lovely.
