Ollalai is a lovely village in Barbagia - not a region for those looking for vibrant nightlife and entertainment, but ideal for those seeking tranquility and silent nights. It is a good starting point to explore this part of Sardinia with many interesting villages. The LaPlaza is a small establishment, with very nicely furnished rooms that one would not expect in such a small place very much off the beaten tourist track. Having said that, the town boasts at least three bars, of which at least the Alto Bar can - in addition to be a popular place for the locals enjoying beer and football matches - offer delicious local food at moderate prices. It is also the place where breakfast is served, though the LaPlaza also has a very useful common kitchen/eating room with fridge, coffee machine, microwave etc. The rooms overlook the pleasant main square with the church and a small super-market. From here there is a less than hour walk to a nearby hill with an old monastery of St Basil, from where there are further mountain trails. We truly enjoyed our stay and we highly recommend LaPlaza.

The hosts Roberta and Santino are extremely kind and we had a great chat (even with my limited Italian). It's clear that every detail is considered, from the decor to the sweets provided. The guest house features family rooms. when you see an acommodation has almost a 10/10 rate on Booking, you wonder why. But as we arrived we understood. Property was absolutely amazing, comfy, big (bigger than expected and perfect for our needs). The balcony addition was perfect to enjoy some wine in the warm afternoons. But the best thing about the property was the staff!!! we were treated like loyalty ❤️ we received a surprise little breakfast, we were given a lot of recommandations for what to do around, best food, how much we should pay for the boat trips so we arent scammed and much! Communication was PERFECT and we were helped with ANY request we had. We are truly grateful. The cleaning staff did an absolutely great job and were so attentive to all details. We even felt bad leaving the room a mess the second day seeing the efforts. Perfect location, the best restaurants of Cala Ganone just a few minutes away. For what it offers, the price was great. Way above the conditions we had in Olbia for twice the money!!!

Easy to reach and to park, directly next to Dorgali and next to a large supermarket. Small area outside the room was also great to have and wind down.

CLean, spacious and with a small balkony overlooking a pedestrian's street! All in all, great!
