The owner is very nice and very helpful. It is just 3 minutes walk to the next bus stop. The park and castle are just 15-20 minutes walk (if you fancy a lovely walk instead of using the bus). I recommend it with no doubt 😉

The couple who run the place are so, so nice, and were able to accommodate my friend’s food allergies without any problems (which, if you know Japan, you know that that’s not always the case!). Plus, the breakfast we got was huge and totally delicious. But the real draw is that the house itself is BEAUTIFUL. I can’t stress enough how charming it is- everywhere you look there’s some lovely tchotchke or antique to discover, all very lovingly arranged. There’s a huge deck outside where you can sit and enjoy the sounds of nature; a massive bath that you can share with friends/fam or keep all to yourself; a room filled with the owners’ personal collection of Showa memorabilia; etc, etc. The rooms were pretty spare but perfectly suitable, especially given all the lounge spaces in the house. Overall AMAZING experience.

Kanazawa Guesthouse Stella está en Kanazawa, a 18 min a pie de Castillo de Kanazawa y a 1,5 km de Jardín Kenrokuen. Shuji made us feel very welcome the moment we arrived. His warmth, friendliness and generosity as well as his local information and recommendations outshone any guide book or Google search. The entire place was spotlessly clean and cosy. Although the rooms were small, the bunks were comfortable with nice linen and cosy duvets and there was room for luggage. The common area was well stocked with everything needed to make a meal or tea and coffee. The location in the historical Higashi Chaya district was ideal. Easy to get to by bus from Kanazawa Station. Walking distance to a supermarket, Kenrokuen Gardens, museums, restaurants. Very quiet within Stella as well as where it is located.

But I especially love the evening activities with Nina-san, Masaki-san and the guests. I got to meet different people and have lovely time and conversations with them. The Nabe night was one of the highlights!! Everything was clean and organized. It is quite nearby at the Kanazawa station and there are a lot of shops nearby.
