The whole setting of the house is brilliant : the rooftop terrace with views of the ocean; the refreshing breakfasts; the cool coral stone steps and walls; the ylang ylang scent on the way to our room; the different levelled roof terraces; the shaded courtyards and natural bright light throughout the house.

They served delicious breakfast for a nominal fee. Could have a warm shower. Enjoyed talking with owner. Very close to all the Lamu action. Owner had connections with others who could help with boat transfers to airport, town tours, boat race viewing etc

The hotel is beautiful, and the staff is always available and welcoming. We have access to a wide range of activities and the hotel is well located, in the center of Shilla and a few minutes by walk from the beach.

It's also very clean. If you are looking for air conditioning and hot water, this is not the place but honestly I didn't need them during my staying. I advice this place for solo travellers. The place is very central. You find everything you need, from historical places to markets and restaurants. Joshua, the owner of the place is a very kind person, always available and committed to improve your staying.

Jamala Guesthouse se encuentra en Lamu, a pocos pasos de Lamu Fort, y ofrece alojamiento con jardín, wifi gratis y cocina compartida. Este alojamiento con vistas al jardín dispone de balcón. The staff and owner were amazing. I was warmly welcomed and assisted in tracing my way to the accomodation site. The cleanliness was top notch, regular room service cleaning, good breakfast and ease in traversing Lamu town. It was also a secure place.
