Schitterende locatie, zeer vriendelijk, hulpvaardig en gastvrij personeel. Niet voor niets zo’n hoge rating. Absolute aanrader, ook als verblijfplaats voor een bezoek aan Yala National Park.

Lake Front Yala Safari ligt in Kataragama, op 18 km van Tissa Wewa, en biedt accommodatie met een tuin, gratis privéparkeren en een terras. My hosts couldn’t have made me feel any more welcome. They are kind and generous. As a single female traveller I felt very secure in their compound. I strongly advice you book your safari with your host. He’s a confident driver with a keen eye for leopards. Don’t think saving money will serve you well, take a private tour. The guest house is situated close to the park and near to the road the dissects the park. Take an evening safari on the road if you can. The accommodation is very clean. I found it hard to leave these lovely people.

Sam's Stay Buduruwagala ligt in Wellawaya, op 39 km van Demodara Negenbogen-brug, en biedt accommodatie met gratis fietsen, gratis privéparkeren, een tuin en een terras. We really enjoyed our stay. The room was lovely, the place was friendly and we had a great time. Great communication between Sam’s place and us before we travelled ensuring all our needs were met when we arrived. They were very helpful and provided us with information and recommendations for things to do in the area. I would recommend and we will be booking again soon. Thank you Sam!

Nobel Regency ligt in Bibile, op 46 km van Nationaal Park Maduru Oya, en biedt accommodatie met een tuin, gratis privéparkeren en een terras. A bit hard to find, behind some shops and apartments, you have to go under the building through, well, a short tunnel really. Maps is fairly accurate so just look for a gap in the building. On the other side is an old house which is the Nobel Regency which should have seemed "hemmed in" by the apartments, but it wasn't as it is set in lovely gardens with many plants. It's an old house with old furniture, retro but very comfortable. Multiple common areas both inside and outside. I had a very big room with a huge bathroom which was original to the house and dated, a bit of a time-warp really, but very clean and perfectly comfortable. Good a/c and fan. Hot water and good water pressure. Comfortable bed. I was hot and tired from my motorbike journey and the staff were exceptionally welcoming and friendly. They bought me a welcome drink. After I had showered, I asked for tea and a snack, and they bought me fruit and then tea and cake on the verandah. Nothing was too much trouble. I sat and read a book and they kept checking that I was comfortable and had everything that I wanted. I did notice that one of the rooms was small because they had added an en-suite bathroom in a sort of prefabricated unit inside the room. That seemed a bit unusual. But I suppose it is perfectly functional. It is an inexpensive place to stay. Very good Sri Lankan curries and rice dinner, fruit and dessert. Breakfast was also very good. This was a perfect choice for me. I didn't explore the town as I was only on a stopover for one night, and I left early the next morning. It was very comfortable with good food and fantastic hosts.

Grand Okka Hotel ligt in Buttala, op 31 km van Buduruwagala Temple, en biedt accommodatie met een tuin, gratis privéparkeren, een terras en watersportfaciliteiten. We had a lovely stay here! The staff was absolutely welcoming and the room was very comfortable. We were greeted with a warm cup of tea, it was wonderful :) Their large garden is a great space to chill, and they also have a book exchange! Thank you :)

Hotel Serugahawatta is gelegen in Wellawaya, op 28 km van Demodara Negenbogen-brug, en biedt accommodatie met een tuin, gratis privéparkeren en een gedeelde lounge. Zeer nette en schone kamer met alles wat je nodig hebt. Goede locatie. Het ontbijt en diner is heerlijk en uitgebreid. Hele lieve mensen. De eigenaar heeft ons de laatste dag nog allerlei mooie plekken in de buurt laten zien. Wij komen hier graag nog een keer terug.

Kande Gedara Resort (කන්දෙ ගෙදර) bevindt zich in Monaragala, op 45 km van Buduruwagala Temple, en biedt accommodatie met een tuin, gratis privéparkeren, een terras en een restaurant. Zeer vriendelijke gastheer. Heeft heerlijk voor ons gekookt. Aapjes in de tuin. Nog een wandeling samen gemaakt.

The room was spacious, with high ceilings and big comfortable queen-sized beds. Everything was clean and had everything we needed for a short stay. Great value for the price! You can also ask to store your food in the fridge if needed. But what really made our stay special was the amazing hospitality. We arrived a bit late and the owner was very kind to drive us to a nearby restaurant that was still open. He also helped us find a driver to another city late at night and was incredibly helpful throughout our stay.
