Place run by fantastic family. Everyone I met there was really nice and helpful. Home cooced breakfast was delicious. Localization is good, close to everything you might need. The room was neat clean and had a fan for warmer days and nights.

Rustic House Hostel se encuentra en Moyogalpa, a 36 km de Volcán Maderas, y ofrece alojamiento con jardín y parking privado gratis. Buenisima vibra y gente. El lugar es muy limpio y tranquilo y cerca del ferry. Excelente!

Hostal Así es mi Tierra se encuentra en Balgue, a 12 km de Volcán Maderas, y ofrece alojamiento con jardín, parking privado gratis y terraza. We loved the relaxed vibe and how everything is set up and decorated, it's really really beautiful and we enjoyed just sitting around on our porch immensely! the location is great as it's away from the crazy hostel stuff but not too far with tons of great local places near by. Getting to all parts of the island from Balgue was ideal as well and everywhere you turn you see one of the volcanoes since you're right in between them. If you turn right from the place you get back into the main hostel area in a few minutes (on bike) and if you turn left you find really beautiful roadways and scenery and you can get away from all the "traveler" stuff. Cafe compestre is just down the street (2 min walking) where you can get a really really good cappuccino. My boyfriend also got a haircut across the street haha. The food they made us was so so so good (our favorite if we HAD to pick was probably the burritos, and they make some of the best smoothies on the island). we were also able to get our moto bike and kayaking through the family as well, and everything was a really good price and easy. On day 4 or so we found a hole in the tire which they fixed in just a couple hours and they didn't charge us which we really appreciated. There was a power outage one evening (it happens on the island from time to time) and they set us up with a candlelit dinner and we just loved that (picture below). The family who owns this are truly wonderful people and we felt really at home, possibly too at home as we were supposed to stay 5 nights and we stayed 9 or 10 😂. I usually got up early and worked a few hours in the balcony seating area with a coffee or smoothie, so can confirm working here is also no problem. For context, I was working fully online building a webpage with large files so internet needed to be really functioning well, and it was :)

We had an amazing stay at Hostal Bullshark! Friendliest and sweetest accommodating hosts, the prices couldn't be beat, and it was really an incredible location for what we wanted: peaceful, close enough to run down the hill to the beach, proximity to the famous Ojo de Agua can't be beat. Great, affordable motorcycles available to rent on-site, the most comfortable hammocks! Very private and perfect for couples or families who are looking to experience Ometepe's incredible nature in a well-placed, authentic setting. If we ever return to Ometepe we will be back!

Guest House Nena se encuentra en Moyogalpa, a 35 km de Volcán Maderas, y ofrece servicio de conserjería, jardín, wifi gratis y terraza. I had an amazing experience in Nena’s Guesthouse! The service was absolutely excellent from start to finish. I want to especially recommend Nena’s motorbike rental service – it was convenient, reliable, and made exploring the area so much easier. Narcy was incredibly kind and helpful throughout my stay, I enjoyed very much. She answered all of my questions with patience and a smile, and truly went above and beyond to make sure I felt welcome. The accommodations were very comfortable and clean, with everything I needed to feel at home. Everybody was friendly! A special thank you to Narcy, who went above and beyond by taking me around the island and making sure I had one of the best days of my entire trip. Her kindness and care truly made a difference — I’ll definitely be coming back!
