Afsal is a very careful person that puts a lot of soul into the property. The place is very sweet and the location is just perfect. But beyond the charm of the space itself however is the positive vibe that it emanates. Just being there makes you feel good because of the attitude of the hosts. Really good value for money, especially for the area. The location was literally perfect for us, around a 5-10 minute walk into the centre but exceptionally quiet around the homestay. Lots of pretty birds as there is a tree farm/forst across the road. Spacious room. Nice family run restaurant next door. The host was really really very kind and made us feel very welcome. She also gave us some great advice :)

We had a really great stay at Sopanam Heritage. Lawrence, Rajesh and their family took care of us like we were family or friends. They helped us for everything (book tickets for Periyar park, Kalari show, spice garden,...). We really enjoyed our time in Kumily.

Room much bigger than expected for a homestay. Nice and bright, very clean. The hosts were kind, generous people who went out of their way to make my stay in Kumily a good one. The food was delicious and couldn't have been better. I would have loved to have stayed longer than my 3 nights.
