I am so glad we chose to stay here - the host family are such genuine, warm, helpful and happy people. We didn’t get off at the right bus stop (Debarwewa) and they very kindly arranged for us to be picked up from the Tissa bus stop. Our room was wonderful - comfy beds and pillows, lovely bathroom - everything was new and spotless. There was plenty of room for us and our three teenage sons. There was a couch and coffee table where we could play cards. Susu and Jami cooked us wonderful dinners - the curries were amazing. They organised our safari and Susu woke us up with coffee at 4.15am ready for the safari. Our safari driver - Kassu - was friendly and a great driver. We saw a leopard as well as many other animals. The owners even stood out on the road with us when we left as we wanted to catch a bus - they waved it down and helped us with our bags. Nothing was too much trouble - they let us use the bicycles and we went for a fun ride into town. I would stay again in a heartbeat - my favourite place in Sri Lanka so far!

We booked one night here, so we can reach Yala Park in the morning. The host is very polite and a pleasant person overall, always with a big smile on his face. I recommend both booking the Safari with this host and ordering dinner here. The Food was delicious!!

Probably the best experience we’ve had staying anywhere!! Fresh coconut water when we arrived. Then a free guided tour around of the lake and birds in the area in Priyankara’s (owner) tuk tuk. The room’s were spotless and had plenty of space. The bathroom too, everything felt thoroughly cleaned and well placed. Everything just worked in all ways. He organised the Yala tour for us at a fantastic rate. He had picked and dropped us up from the bus stop for free in his tuk tuk when we arrived/left Tisa. Everything was just perfect and so thoughtful. Wish we could have stayed much longer.

There was fisherman there who took me for a trade fishing ride experience. So many birds singing and squirrels playing around, literally, it was like living with the nature. And nearby lake, there were thousands of fruit bats and anhinga birds. For nature lovers, this place is like heaven. For city people, it’s an opportunity to be with the real nature!

I have had an amazing stay at V Cabanas! The room was very spacious, clean and a great shower with hot water:) Also the view from the terrace over the rice fields was so good! The food was excellent, both breakfast and curry were one of the best I had in Sri Lanka! Lastly, the host family was just amazing. They welcomed me with some tea and were very helpful and kind surfing my stay. They took me to see the Fruit bats view point, lent me a bike, and dropped me at the busstation when I left. One of my best stays so far, so highly recommend!

It is a modest but wonderful accommodation close to Yala National Park. The accommodation is run by a very nice family. Everyone is still smiling and offering sweet tea. Here you feel more like a welcome member of the family than just a guest. The room has everything you need. There is a comfortable bed a fan and a clean bathroom. There is a wonderful quiet sitting area outside with a view of the rice field. Here you can watch the birds feeding. What more could a traveler ask for? At the end of my stay they went with me to the main street and made sure I got on the right bus. Thanks for that! It was great at your place! Thank you for your hospitality and for the perfect chat in the morning with the view from your garden! I really appreciate it. It was great! I wish you many happy guests and good luck with your plans to expand your business with more tables in your restaurant! I keep my fingers crossed for you! Great job! From the moment we arrived at Moon Light we felt straight at home. The room was perfect, very comfortable and clean. The place itself was in the middle of the rice paddies and in such a fantastic location. It was so lovely to have lunch there. Peaceful yet in good walking distance of a shop if needed. The owner was so nice and helpful, driving us to rent a scooter in the town nearby and waking us in the morning too. He organised a fantastic safari where we managed to see leopards, elephants, jackals, crocs, water buffalo and hundreds of species of birds. The breakfast we were given was by far the best. Lunch was also included in our safari and it was delicious, home cooked at Moon Light. Felt very special to come back to a delicious spread of food after such an exciting morning. The owner also bought us ice cream before we left and got us a free tuktuk to the bus station. Such amazing hospitality. Cannot thank them enough. We’d be back in a heartbeat!!!

The cottage is just wonderfull. The garden view is magnificent and in the room you have everything you need at your disposal. The hosts are superfriendly and will arrange for you everything you need. Breakfast was delicious. A recommendation!
