My stay at Mei Jen House BnB was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment I arrived, the warmth and friendliness of the owner, Mei Jen, and her daughter, Pam, made me feel right at home. The hospitality extended beyond mere courtesy; Mei Jen and Pam went above and beyond to ensure that my stay was comfortable and enjoyable. They were always ready with helpful tips about exploring Sun Moon Lake and were genuinely interested in making sure I had a memorable experience. One of the highlights of my stay was the thoughtful amenities provided. From the cozy rooms to the well-stocked shared areas, every detail seemed to be carefully considered to enhance guests' comfort. Mei Jen even surprised me with small touches like fresh fruit and local snacks at breakfast, which added an extra layer of warmth to my stay. The location of Mei Jen House BnB is also worth mentioning. Situated near Sun Moon Lake, it offered breathtaking views and easy access to the area's attractions. A perfect venue to be near the pier and soak in all the tourist sites, 2 mins walk to the Ita Thao Pier and food street. The service staff were fantastic, especially Hank who was superb in making us comfortable and well settled, highly recommend especially for travellers with family to take the biggest room on level 8, extremely spacious and comfortable.

My son (3) and I arrived by bus in Shuishe. We took the boat to Ita Thao and walked to the cabin; the host joined us on the road (unexpectedly) to make sure we were on the right way. Our cabin was quiet, clean and very comfortable. It would have been perfect for a romantic getaway.

I really enjoyed staying at this property. The thing I loved most about it was the smell of tea when leaving and entering through the tea shop on the ground floor (which belongs to the same owner). Sets the mood for the day! :) I also liked that it was centrally located within short walking distance to everything (restaurant, bus stop to Taichung, two 7/11), yet a bit away from the crowds on the quieter end of the road. It also felt more private as I did not see many other guests which I liked. The room itself was my first ever without a window (this I knew in advance) but it was so well-designed with large reflecting marble tiles and lighting as well as glass that it did not feel claustrophobic at all, instead it felt like staying in a luxurious safe deposit room in a bank. :D Small touches like towels, tissues and - most of all - the tea station made it perfect. Staff was also available the few times I needed and very helpful. Thank you!

A clean spacious room with excellent bathroom. Looked renovated recently. Best shower we have had in Taiwan - stall with door, good hot water, bathroom had hooks for towels etc, shelves/places to put things. Small balcony on our third floor room with small views. Close to busy streets and board walks along lake but quiet.

The interior of the room was modern and cosy. The best part was that there was a tea drinking nook (Room 601). The bathroom had a rainfall shower head with great water pressure. The room is very spacious and had a veranda. The toilet is a bidet type and even has a hose! Such a good bonus for muslim travellers. The location of the B&B was quite close to a parking area. Just needed to cross the road, but suggest bringing a day pack if you plan to stay there just overnight as lugging around a luggage might be inconvenient if you park far. The B&B provided free flow of drinking water, and the coffee machine is free to use as well. As there were not many halal options for breakfast, the staff provided a gift voucher worth NT$60 for each guest to spend at the 7-Eleven nearby. There were a lot of restaurants within walking distance (also none were Halal nor muslim friendly), but there are some vegan snack options. Would definitely stay here again if we visit Sun Moon Lake.
