It is easy to give a good review when things go perfectly, but it is when things don't go smoothly and the property owner makes an exceptional effort to put things right, that reviews really matter. I turned up to my booking to find the property unattended. Short of time, I booked somewhere else. Booking.com doesn't allow immediate cancellation, even though it is obvious that no one needs two different stays on the same night! The owner was very communicative and understanding and worked hard to help process the refund. To me, this is the mark of an exceptional and responsible property owner. Location is incredible, with so much variety included as part of the stay - hiking, kayaking, swimming, birding, braaing. One of the best spots for sundowners on the top of the cliff. Would recommend three nights minimum

We received a very warm welcome. The old schoolhouse is secluded in the mountains. Bronwyn and Colin have lovingly renovated and furnished it. We slept with the window open and enjoyed the peace and seclusion. There are several marked hiking trails, the river for swimming and boats for paddling. Our children loved the chickens, which they were allowed to feed. They are very tame and let themselves be stroked. Thank you all! We had a great time!
