Encounter Garden Great Wall Holiday Guesthouse heeft gratis fietsen, een seizoensgebonden buitenzwembad, een tuin en een gedeelde lounge in Beijing. Perfecte plek om de muur te bezoeken. Hele aardige en behulpzame host. Ze liet ons de zonsopgang ervaren op de muur. Bracht ons met de auto naar Lake at the Great Wall en regelde taxi terug naar Changping. Er worden dingen georganiseerd zoals Chinese papierkunst workshop en een demonstratie met Chinees muziekinstrument. Accomodatie is sfeervol en leuk restaurantje.

Dit vriendelijke hostel ligt in Miyun, op slechts 50 m afstand van de Grote Muur. Het biedt moderne architectuur, gratis WiFi en gratis parkeergelegenheid. I chose this hostel as a base for visiting the Great Wall of China. There are a couple of ways to arrive there, the owner provides all the information after booking. My way: from Beijing North Station I took the "Huaimi line of suburban railway" to Gubeikou town. I bought the ticket at the train station 3 hours in advance and it costs 12 CNY. The trip takes ~2,5 h. From the station, a taxi took me to the hostel (~4KM, 20 CNY). It was arranged by the hotel in advance. Once you arrive you find yourself in a kind or yoga retreat. Calmness, tranquility, good vibes. I was lucky enough to have the dorm all to myself. The bunk beds are old styled, no curtains/bed light/bed socket. But my mattress was comfy. The bathroom area is excellent. Lots of toiletries are there for you to choose. And yes, the toilets are Japanese style! For extra payment you can have dinner and breakfast, all chinese style, cooked in their kitchen, mainly vegetarian. And before even settling down, Xiaowei (the owner) tells you everything about the trail you are going to follow the next day. She uses a translation gadget and sends crucial photos of the path through "Wechat" application. She and her assistant Lynn accomodate any need you might have, always smiling and thoughtful.

Jinshanling Gubeikou Great Wall聚友缘民宿 is gelegen op 15 km van Grote Muur van China - Simatai en biedt een gedeelde lounge en een terras. The host is incredibly helpful and amazing. She is always there to help, if you need anything. The room is very clean and spacious. We loved the place and the surrounding so that we even extended our stay for one more night.

Amazing place to visit the great wall from! Owners pick you up from the station and to the wall (for a charge of course) and will make sure you have the best experience. We were lucky enough to experience the "cloud sea" on the wall and the owners made sure we could even visit the wall before it was officially open. Very good experience!

Everything , I’m writing this from the train station about to leave . The setting is perfect to go around the multiple parts of the Great Wall , there is one unrestored a short walk from the hotel . Honestly this place and its people are amazing . You will feel at home, they arrange everything for you and the food is delicious. It feels like home .

北京重构空间酒店天安门王府井店 is aantrekkelijk gelegen in de wijk Dongcheng in Beijing, en bevindt zich op 3,2 km van Verboden Stad, 3,4 km van Yonghetempel en 3,7 km van Tiananmenplein. Heel fijne locatie in de hutongs. Vriendelijk personeel. Boven een koffiebar die om 8u30 opent en lekkere koffie serveert. Goede prijs/kwaliteitsverhouding.
