Its a nice, calm corner in the outskirts of town. perfect for getting away from the big city. The owner and his family are more than friendly and accomodating, would recommend.

It was an amazing experience, the guesthouse is located in a very beautiful place close to nature. The host was so welcoming, she prepared a dinner for us (asked if we are interested in it) and introduced us to the music, dance and singing from the region. We talked and learned a lot :) the room was big and comfortable, the view and singing of the birds in the morning made the day brighter :)

We had a wonderful stay at Minpaku Suzuki! The hosts were very friendly and gave us a warm welcome. The room was spacious, clean and quiet. There is no bathroom but the nearby onsen is adequate. The breakfast was delicious, way above our expectations. Highly recommended!

The property is nice and cozy, walk a little (approximately 6mins) from the Ofunato line mataki station. The day I’m arrived the ofunato line was suspended til the evening but the host is very nice and helpful, he picked us up and drove us to the ichenoseki station on the checked out day. Though the host isn’t fluent in English, he trying to communicate and help us in anything he’s incredibly good!!

It was refreshing to explore a place where the pace is slower and the culture feels so genuine. The absolute highlight of our stay was Guest House Chara, run by the kindest elderly couple, Fusao and Toshiko. Their warmth and hospitality made us feel completely at home—it wasn’t just a place to sleep, it truly felt like staying with family. Their house told a story, filled with warmth, history, and the little personal touches that made it feel lived-in and loved. From the amazing homemade breakfast to the delicious ramen dinners they prepared, every meal was made with care and love. The guest house is conveniently located, just a short walk from a supermarket and a laundromat, which made things really easy for us. This personal, welcoming experience truly made our trip special. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a meaningful, off-the-beaten-path experience in Japan. ありがとうございます

Uchi Matsushima Guesthouse ligt in Matsushima, op 23 km van Sendai City Community Support Center en 5 minuten lopen van Entsuin Temple. Zeer schoon en erg vriendelijke host.

Petit Resort Hotel Der Barte ligt op 8 minuten lopen van skigebied Zao Onsen, en biedt een 3-sterrenaccommodatie in Zao Onsen en heeft een tuin, een restaurant en een bar. It’s easy to go skiing or snowboarding. The lift is just next to the hotel. The hotel owner is kind and funny. I have a great experience here.

Shukubo Kanbayashi Katsukane is gelegen in Tsuruoka, op 24 km van Kamo Aquarium, en biedt accommodatie met gratis WiFi en gratis privéparkeren. The staff was very kind and the place was nice and traditional. It was exactly what I hoped to see. The food was tasty with large quantities. Thank you very much!!!!
