Absolutely amazing hotel, very clean and spacious rooms, perfect location (5 mins from ticket office, 15 from polonnaruwa sacred city entrance), friendly stuff and hotel owner. The reason to come here is that front porch. The rest of the cabin is small but functional. Give yourself a few hours to stay there and watch the animals of the lake. We were braced for clouds of insects, but there weren't many, maybe we got lucky. We also went for the morning lake tour which was fantastic. Excellent breakfast as well. The host was really helpful and easy to get ahold of.

Binara and his wife are perfect hosts, I felt fully supported and safe with them. I loved their home cooked meals! The accommodation with a peaceful environment, huge garden is enchanting, quiet, comfortable also close to the ancient ruins and the magical lake. Boat tour on the lake by Nimal is highly recommended, one of my best experience here in Sri Lanka.

I enjoyed staying at Aruna because it is located in a very quite neighborhood. Comfortable room and terrace. Welcome drink and good breakfast. Bike rental from the host was very practical (highly recommended to explore the historic city).

Room is very big, with comfortable beds. Very quiet location. Hot water works very well, there is even a toothpaste. WiFi works very well. We had no mosquitoes. To the historical part you can cycle by bicycle , there is a path, you don’t have to cycle on the highway. The juices are very tasty.
