The community-lodge style felt very welcoming and friendly, and I loved being able to interact with the other travellers. It's in a beautiful building with a big kitchen, big common room and nice garden. I booked a queen room which was great price-quality. The YHA is about 10-15 min walk from the station and about 15-20 min walk from the three sisters. Great location to di some hiking, or to just hide out from the fog and rain with a good book. Plenty of seats in the lounge for you to rest or get work done. Good location, right in the middle of Katoomba town, close to supermarkets, cafes and restaurants.
