This was my third time staying in a hostel, and Auberge was the best among them! (1) Location - 5-7 min approx. to the metro station that brought me everywhere without correspondance; 10-12 min approx to the bus stop of bus 747 that brings you to the airport and back; 10 min. on a bus to the Musee de Beaux Arts with a bus stop right near the Auberge. Perfect! (2) Room {I had private room with a private bathroom}. It was initially cold, but after I asked everything was fixed and I was warm (Montreal in March is coooold!). Nice shower, comfortable bed with numerous pillows and warm blanket. Table to work with a laptop, good lighting to tailor to your needs, mirrors, a lot of storage space for different kinds of things. I could open the window and let in some fresh air, too. (3) Personnel - so nice people! I speak French and had many pleasant convesrations during breakfast and at the reception. I got a personal health-related problem, and a gentleman at the reception helped me promptly. (4) Common space is cosy! When I wanted some company, I could come and stay there. Very comfortable sofa, tables, chairs, sockets are in abundance. Kitchen was very clean. I didn't cook, but it was comfortable enough for that. Hot water, tea were available all day. Also there is space for coats and suitcases. (5) Breakfast was fine - pancakes were cooked right during breakfast. Also there are boiled eggs, bread, butter, oranges, coffee (didn't try myself). Overall, I was more than satisfied and it was like a good 3-star hotel, but with people around for company and less official help from the personnel. Thanks a lot!

The facilities were great, there was a cafe on site, bar, & entertainment for all ages. The neighbourhood outside feels unsafe (particularly at night), but we felt very secure in the hostel compound & stepping out at day time. Wonderful value for money!

The hostel is well-located, close to the subway station and restaurants, just a 10-minute walk away. The room and bathroom are bright, clean, and comfortable. In addition, you have enough space to store your personal items. Highly recommended for those traveling on a budget, it's the best hostel to choose.

Great location, clean and safe hostel. I stayed in a dorm and it was comfortable and quiet. Since it is right smack in downtown Montreal, I would recommend it for a stay close to all public transportation. The breakfast was also very good.

The hotel was a great deal for anyone looking to travel on a budget and be close to downtown and the best highlights of Montreal. It was my first time staying in a hostel abroad and it allayed my fears. I stayed in an all-female room of 12 and it was super safe and clean all the time. The jacuzzi on the roof is amazing and the staff were friendly and multi-lingual. I even extended my stay one extra day. I would 100% recommend this place to friends, solo travellers and especially female solo travellers.

I'm from Ukraine and I spent about 2 weeks there. It was the cheapest and best hostel with an amazing breakfast every morning. This place is really nice, clean, and so comfortable. The staff was also very nice and helpful. Thank you to everyone for everything. I liked it so much!!"
