What a lovely place to stay! All the people in here (Marina, Ryo,...) have been super friendly and gave a lot of information and"hidden"/local touristic gems what to do and where you can go (English as well). Suzaka is a bit further away from Nagano but the surroundings offer a lot of things to do and when you come back, just enjoy staying in the living and talk with everyone there, it was a really nice social place to be. They help you get all the information you need and you should try all the recommendations of restaurants they offer you. If you want a local experience with a wonderful atmosphere, you should stay there =)

I don’t know any other hostel in Nagano, but I also don’t need to. This is by far one of the best hostels I have stayed in. The location is good, Sakura (I believe it is her name) is a great host and even though she is not fully fluent in English, she communicates very effectively and tries her best to improve. The lobby is cozy and the comodities are great. Shame I only stayed one night

It's a small, very cozy guesthouse in the suburbs from Nagano. Our host was lovely and even drove us to the nearest onsen. We also had our best hiking trips with amazing views of the snowy mountains, just in front of the guesthouse. The beds are really comfortable and we had the best sleep. The homestay has everything needed besides toiletries also a fully equipped kitchen. In the small town you find everything you need, a familymart, small restaurants, post and onsen. We really loved it!
