Very well located, close to the taisha and the main bus station. Big comfy traditional house, clean and warm. The host is welcoming and care taking, he adapted for us to leave our backpacks in his café which was very convenient. He also gave us food, and it was a very nice breakfast we had after the first days of walk. He speaks a perfect English which is also very convenient as Japanese is quite a challenging language for Occidental people like us. The common spaces are large and comfy, filled with delicious snacks. The kitchen is very well equipped and organised.

2 minutes walk to Kii Tanabe station. 800m away from Aeon/Daiso/beach and Gourmet City(24H) where u can get everything u need. Nearby many nice restaurants for dinner. U can use easily get the location by searching Nagisa Guesthouse in Google map. Good, friendly & young owner. Speak English well. He knows everything in Tanabe including best place to dine, drink and Kumano Kodo. Very comfortable bed. Bed is double decker bunk bed with new pillow and new mattress. You don't have to sleep at floor (tatami) like other guesthouse. Good shower and big toilet. Planned to stay a night but ended up stayed for 3 nights and don't want to leave. Feel like own home. Nice japanese style living room. Highly recommended guesthouse in Tanabe. Must stay and it worth the value. U can dry your clothes at the backyard too.

Bit of a walk from kii-Tanabe station but a lovely host with dorm like bedrooms, and a place to rest your head before taking on a walk to the mountains the next day. Very close quarters but a great budget option.

A very warm place to stay. I was a guest of the hostel for most of the days of my Kumano Kodo trail. The bus stop (81/80) and the train station are 5/10 minutes walking distance. And it could a good option if your are making the trail, and you don’t find accomodation in the other villages. In this case consider the travel by the bus. A Lawson market (24h) is nearby if you have to provide your food. Restaurants and bars is all around. The host is very kind and his help was needed for me to arrange my trail.
