Honestly it was the cleanest hostel I've ever stayed with very aesthetic interior it is a small hostel but they had everything i needed, i had a really good quality of sleep as well i stayed for 3 nights every night there were only 2 guests including me so felt like I used airbnb or hotel also it is super close to the bus station like 5 minutes on foot

The owners are really amazing! They will make you feel at home since the second you are there!

During my recent stay at Sunset Lake Hostel in Ohrid, I was blown away by the warmth and energy of the place. From the moment I walked in, Gyoko, the legendary host, greeted me by name with a huge smile and made me feel instantly at home. His knowledge of the area is incredible—he’s like a walking guidebook, always ready to recommend the best restaurants, scenic trails, or hidden gems around the city. He even helped me arrange my bus ticket and personally gave me a ride to the station, which was a thoughtful gesture that I really appreciated. The location of the hostel couldn’t be better. It’s just a short walk to the Old Town, the lake, and numerous ancient sites like the fortress and basilicas. There are also plenty of shops, restaurants, and convenience stores nearby, making it super easy to grab a quick meal or snack. The hostel itself is cozy, clean, and has everything you need. The rooms are spacious, and the beds are comfortable with thick duvets, perfect for those cooler nights. I particularly loved the common area, where guests would gather to chat, share stories, and watch football. The well-equipped kitchen and the simple yet delightful breakfast of fresh bread, jam, and coffee made mornings even better. What sets this place apart, though, is the vibe. It’s not just a hostel—it’s a home away from home. Gyoko’s relaxed and friendly attitude spreads through the entire place, making it easy to connect with fellow travelers. Whether it’s sharing a meal, getting travel tips, or even heading out for a drink with the host, you’ll find yourself part of a little family. If you’re visiting Ohrid, I highly recommend Sunset Lake Hostel. It’s more than just a place to sleep—it’s an experience. Thanks to Gyoko and the team for making my stay so memorable. Good breakfast :) and very nice host! He let us keep our things at the accommodation after the stay and let us wait there when the flight was delayed.

The value for money of the stay is great, since we had our own room and bathroom.
