Peter the owner was lovely, checked us in 4 hours early from a long flight to Cairns and was very friendly and helpful Bathrooms and facilities were very clean and modern Very quiet and relaxed hostel and in a great location (right next to the bus/train station) Rooms were also great all equipped with mirrors, towel pegs and mini fridges

Refurbished in May, 2018, Mad Monkey Village featuresa TV, a kitchen, bathrooms with air-conditioners in every room. There is also an outdoor swimming pool. Free WiFi provided. Absolutely amazing stay at Mad Monkey Village. Very welcoming staff and nice common areas to hang around at. A big fan of the hammock by the pool and the tv room where you could watch what you wanted to on Netflix. The pillows here were also so nice and not flat like other hostels. Would definitely recommend to a friend.

On several occasions, I had help with my luggage and friendly faces to guide me to where I needed to go. The area is top tier and within walking distance to everything you'd need - the rooms are gorgeous and comfy. Would definitely come back again!

Ideally located in the scenic and quieter area of the Esplanade- away from the noise of the clubs, bars and traffic- but only an easy 10 minute walk to the main attractions, the Pier and Cairns City... Great location and clean room. I got a room upgrade for my short stay
