Set in a restored jailhouse, this Ottawa hostel is adjacent to the Ottawa Convention Centre and Rideau Centre Mall. It features rooms with free Wi-Fi and serves a daily continental breakfast. The property was unique. I stayed in a single cell. It was clean, comfortable and it didn’t feel too small. The amenities were great. The breakfast was better than I’ve had at some hotels. Great cuppa coffee. The best part I felt completely safe as a lone traveler. Stay for the tour!!

The dining area, plentiful silverware, and the large fridge felt impressive, especially on nights where I was the lone tenant. This was the most I felt like I was in a personal space rather than renting a room.
