I had a great experience staying here. The host is a really chill, down-to-earth guy who genuinely cares about his guests. He was very accommodating to my situation and made sure I was comfortable throughout my stay. The room was clean, spacious, and a great place to relax after a long day. At first, I wasn’t planning to do the trekking because it was a bit out of my budget, and we initially disagreed on the price. But despite that, he went as far as to let me set up my tent on his property for free to ensure my safety, which really showed his kindness and hospitality. One important thing to note—before booking, make sure you can afford the trekking with him. He’s very passionate about it, and there could be some misunderstandings if you stay without booking a trek. But overall, if you’re looking for a welcoming place with a great host and a solid trekking experience, this is a great choice!

Un rincón apartado del bullicio, lleno de calma, encanto y ese toque de romanticismo que te hace sentir en pausa. El dueño es cercano, amable y siempre dispuesto a echar una mano, ya sea con el tema de la visa o con consejos prácticos para moverse por la isla. Las habitaciones compartidas permiten conocer a otros viajeros con calma y buen ambiente, y muchos surfistas eligen quedarse aquí durante varios días, alquilando motos con soporte para tablas en el pueblo de Alau, a un paso de aquí. Best place to stay for backpackers in Medan. The location is perfect and the host extremely friendly and helpful. The place is clean and relatively comfortable--remember it is a hostel, not a hotel, so be prepared for sharing the space. I stayed at a different hostel in Medan before coming to Dazhong and it could not compare to this. You will meet fellow travelers here, the atmosphere is very friendly, and you will get all the information and help you need to travel in Sumatra.

Staff is nice, organizes surf, spearfishing and island-hopping trips. There is an on-site café where you can get breakfast (included in the stay). They also have quite a few surfboards for rent. Room is simple, bu It has all you need, bed is comfy, you can get free coffee/tea all day. I only stayed a night, but I wish to have stayed longer. You can see Telescopes breaking from far(but in front of the accommodation), to reach it is a short boat ride away.
