Our stay at Tanigawa Valley Lodge & Coffee Roastery was lovely. We arrived a bit late, but the staff were still there to welcome us and check us in. We decided to try the Italian restaurant ‘Small Restaurant Sae’ just up the street, and it did not disappoint. The property is also within a 6-minute drive to a FamilyMart. The room was comfortable, and the bathroom was spotless. Breakfast and coffee in the morning were delicious. We ran into the property owner, Craig, as we were leaving, and he was very kind and gave us recommendations for things to do in the area. We would definitely stay at Tanigawa Valley Lodge & Coffee Roastery on our next trip to Tanigawa!

I enjoyed the environment at the hostel. The staff were very friendly and willing to engage guests in conversation. It was clean and had a nice design throughout the hostel. They offered delicious food for a fair price as well. It was also very nice of them to offer shuttle service to the nearest train station if guests needed it.

Tami is a true artist and has created an amazing workspace and I am so glad that I chose here rather than staying in a conventional hotel and hiding away in my room …there was always someone to chat to downstairs or I could escape and study upstairs. I met so many wonderful people and Tami San was exceptional. She cooked me nabe on my last night there.

The bed was comfortable, but creaked every time I moved. I thought it would break. There were a few sift spots in the floor, which made me think the house is on its last legs.
