The common area is what one has to pass through to get to the rooms which I prefer as you can soeak to a lot of people that way. Also the lady at reception desk is extremely cute with the alt style. Staff are very helpful to the fact that they know there is no elevator and are willing to assist in bringing the luggage up for you (please ask nicely as luggage can be heavy to bring up three flights of stairs). To add onto that, I had lost my wallet and between the police and the staff of the hostel, they were able to deliver it to the hostel and provide a date and time for me to collect it, and were able to provide feedback where there was a delay in delivery, which was extremely appreciated.There is a map of the immediate area that shows the best restaurants, cheap laundry, places to drink etc which is extremely helpful (especially if you want to try something new or rather eat cheap you can see options).

Bear in mind that the stay is a bit remote, so it's hard to get there and move around the area if you don't have your own vehicle. Nevertheless, they will offer to pick you up and drop you off at the station, while also providing you with a bicycle once you get there. To me, this only added to the experience. There's a cafe where you can have something to eat from 10 am to 6 pm. Even though the food offering is limited, it is really tasty.
