Chinola is cooking family dinners now and then and for just 300-400 pesos you’ll get an amazing meal. Location is nice, easy to walk to beaches and bars, Supermarkets near by and it feels safe even walking on my own at night time. People here try to give you the best experience: helping out with questions, connecting everyone in a WhatsApp group, going out together at night, joining dance classes together and first of all being super friendly and generous. I’m looking forward to come back soon.

The hostel beds are also good and right in front of the river. I love the fact that you feel in the middle of nowhere but at the same time you are just 15min away from the city. The place is quiet, secure and comfortable.

At the hostel, every room is equipped with a terrace with a garden view. I had a wonderful and relaxing time! You can really enjoy nature and some peace and quiet there!! The host is lovely and very attentive and helpful with everything. Although it's outside of the town you can easily figure out how to go around with the route taxis that drive around the area!

Very friendly owner, always around with helpful tips about the area. The facilities are basic, but sufficient - AC in the room (a bit noisy, but it works). A very chill, backpacking vibe.

Garden was from paradise with loads of birds, butterflies and toads (at night). We were lucky as it was not busy when we were there so quiet outdoor kitchen and beautifully kept shared bathroom. You must try Teresa’s jerk pork a few yards down the road - she was great fun whenever we visited her - she might be the heart of Brighton Beach! We stayed in February 2025.
