1. the Guest House and Surroundings Haus Bergblick has been welcoming tourists for 40 years. The building has beenrenovated over the last few years, but has managed to keep the traditional Alpine style and can be found in Obervellachban, 2km from Hermagor, where real village life can be experienced; horses and cows grazing on the pastures, farm machines going about their business, fresh milk for purchase, etc. Take a walk along the bank of the Vella Brooke, marvel at the waterfalls along wilderness paths. There are many sporting opportunities in the vicinity. Obervellach provides tennis courts, bowling alleys, EuroParcs Spa for visitors with excellent restaurants (Schluga’s Wirtshaus), Pubs (Flaschberger) within walking distance from our guest house and a small grocery store during thespring-summer season period. The village lies along the Villach- Kötschach bicycle road which is 100km long. As well as this, there are countless of cycling roads around the area, all perfectly mapped and signposted with mountainous trails for the more adventurous. We provide free bicycles for all our guests, or you can bring your own. The guest house has five comfortable appartments. In the evenings there is a possibility to get together in the common room and chat about the day’s events, or you could just chill out and watch TV with family and friends. There’s a nice sauna to warm yourself up after skiing all day and there is a hot tub in the planning, too. For children there is a games room where they can play table football and boardgames. There is also the possibility to barbecue in the garden with family and friends. In short, you can find everything here to guarantee a wonderful time.

2. About Us and Our Guest House A friendly family welcomes it’s guests with suggestions of numerous programmes and directions in German in this village-style guest house in Hermagor. Your comfort is paramount to us, that is why the house despite maintaining it’s traditional Austrian village atmosphere, has been renovated with modern bathrooms and kitchens. All appartments a fully equipped with coffee makers, electric kettles, microwave ovens, hair dryers, etc. It is possible to cook in the larger apartments and in the common kitchen. Numerous common areas can be found at the house, where you can enjoy a beer, drink coffee, or just sit around the bar chatting. We are here to help you get aquainted with your surroundings, as well as organizing guided motor bikeand bicycle rides. We also provide electric bicycles for hire/rent. In the expansive yard you can cook using a traditional pot, or have barbecues with family and friends while admiring the panoramic surroundings. In the winter, a sauna, mulled wine and hot tea awaits our tired skiers.

3. Hermagor and it’s surroundings Hermagor (which is 2km away, is a typical Alpine small town, on the banks of the River Gail which is situated in Carinthia. Almost every week there are organized events, like the „Speckfest” (bacon festival), „Honigfest” (honey festival), and the winter troll run, or „Krampuslauf”. Sport lovers can go hiking in the mountains and in the spectacular canyon of Garnitzenklamm, go cycling on beautiful winding bicycle roads, or on mountain paths. For something more demanding, why not try mountain climbing? The area is a real gem for motor cyclist with it’s 5 famous panorama roads (Hochalpenstraße) all within 90km (the guest house provides guided tours. In the summer, try one of the 3 beach resorts in the crystal clear waters of Lake Pressenger, or Rading’s „Naturschwimmbad”. For lovers of winter sports, there are 110kms of slopes at the Hassfeld Ski Resort, or go ice skating on the frozen waters of Weissensee. For the culture vulture the are numerous museums and concerts year round. The recently renewed railway takes you through spectacular Alpine routes all the way to Villach city center. Bicycles are allowed on the trains, meaning you can take your bicycle with you and cycle around the towns and surroundings.
