Amaruq Log Cabin is a stunning traditional log home in the High Country at the base of Mt Buller. Surrounded by bushland, this cosy cabin is a fairytale base to explore the year round activities offered by the mountain, forest and river that embraces it.
The opportunity for wildlife viewing from the deck is endless. A large trampoline and monkey bars in the fully fenced backyard will keep the young at heart entertained in this little mountain retreat.
Huge timber logs dominate the interior and exterior. A rustic, industrial feel invites you to warm up beside the wood fire in winter or enjoy the expansive decking in summer.
This character filled home has 3 bedrooms. The ground floor bedroom has a king bed, while the 2 bedrooms upstairs are open loft style. One has a queen bed, while the other has 4 king singles. The downstairs open study area has a premium quality sofa bed if additional beds are required. All bedrooms are heated. There is 1 bathroom with a huge double shower, plus an additional powder room.
Streaming capable TV’s are located in the living, study, King and Queen rooms, with BluRay players in the study and Queen rooms.
Family friendly with a secure yard, Wii console and games, plus space on the huge deck for the grown ups to relax and look out over the magical bush land views.
PLEASE NOTE -We are NOT located on Mt Buller, but in Sawmill Settlement, the closest off mountain town, which is 2km to the entrance gates of Mt Buller. It is approximately a 30 minute drive in good traffic and conditions to the village car park. We are not above the snowline, so please don't book expecting to be staying in the snow. There is another adjacent, but completely separate log cabin that shares the driveway..
Outside of the snow season, we are happy to consider up to 2 well behaved dogs, written permission must be obtained.
Adult guests are required to provide a copy of their government issued ID and a contact number for insurance purposes
Sawmill Settlement is located at the base of Mt Buller, 2km from the Mirimbah entrance gates or a 20 minute drive past Mansfield. There is an abundance of outdoor activities in the area, from skiing, snowboarding or tobogganing during the winter at Mt Buller or Mt Stirling, to mountain or motor bike riding in the Mansfield State Forest, hiking, 4x4 adventuring and fishing through the High Country during the warmer months. There are many family friendly adventures to be had with the nearby Mansfield Zoo, High Country Maze, Hot Air Ballooning, Horse Riding and Mini Golf. Adults will find plenty of wineries, breweries, a golf course and a fantastic array of pubs and restaurants in the Mansfield Shire.
