Pilliga Pottery Creative Farmstay is a destination offering visitors many different experiences. It is located about 30km from Coonabarabran. To access the property, guests need to travel via Borambitty Road which is a 10km all-weather dirt road that can get bumpy in the dry season but adds to the farm experience.
Pilliga Pottery Creative Farmstay is 100% off-grid with its own water supply and solar system. We are truly self-sufficient and invite you to take part in our mission for sustainable living. In the accommodations, the AC will only run while the sun is shining, and we ask that all guests conserve our precious rainwater. We are proud to be ECO friendly with a very small carbon footprint.
Visit our pottery workshop to browse our selection of handcrafted ceramics, experience a pottery class or just enjoy a delicious lunch at the Blue Wren Café in the beautiful surroundings of Barkala Farm.
The farm offers a choice of unique accommodation experiences for couples through to large groups. Un-powered campsites are available. Guests can feed the farm animals and relax by the pool. There are 60km of bush-walking tracks to explore walks or take a guided bird watching tour.
Pilliga Pottery Creative Farmstay is proudly owned and operated by Maria Rickert and her family. Since 1985 the family has built, improved and maintained “Barkala” farm with the help of many Friends and backpackers.
