The space When you arrive through the gates of Base Camp you will immediately find yourself removed from the nearby urban environs. Whilst only a 5 minute drive to the CBD of Hobart, you could be forgiven for thinking you are in wilder Tasmania. The chalet, with its three cosy loft bedrooms and refined, stylish comforts, looks down into the water catchments of the Waterworks Reserve and the steep flanks of Chimney Pot Hill. From the windows of your personal sauna and through the steam of your outdoor bath and shower, you will gaze out into nature and with it, its dark night skies, basking in the silence and solitude. The 4-acre Base Camp property is situated at the very end of a private road and within a nature protection zone. The property borders onto the kunanyi mountain reserve, also named Mt Wellington. Just a short 5-minute drive from the property at Fern Tree, there is a plethora of mountain trails for hiking, trail running and mountain biking. The Springs and Pinnacle are other famous places for embarking on trail adventures and are just another 10-15 minutes beyond Fern Tree. The area is also well known for road cycling, rock climbing and orienteering too. Base Camp is located within South Hobart near the famous Cascade Brewery and Female Convict Factory site. In need of wellness? Retreat to the yoga wellness studio which is equipped with yoga mats, exercise equipment and a treadmill. Afterwards, retreat to the sauna or outdoor bath and shower to rejuvenate.

There are some wonderful cafes and the world class Hill Street Grocers in South Hobart too. Just a couple more minutes drive lies Salamanca, known for its Saturday morning markets and popular restaurant, cafe, art and music cultures. So too is the central retail and business districts of Hobart and its beautiful waterfront.
