So much to see and do. You could easily spend a week in this area. Black Bluff View Retreat is within 90 minutes drive of Cradle Mountain, the waterfalls and rainforests of the Tarkine and close to Leven Canyon, Gunns Plains and the coastal towns of Ulverstone, Penguin and Turners Beach. There are lots of dining and coffee options with abundant local produce grown in some of the best soil on the planet.
There are many beaches within a 15 minute drive, including at Ulverstone and Turners Beach. The Dial Range runs adjacent to BBVR to the west and has world class walks and newly developed mountain bike trails. Ulverstone has an exceptional range of recreational facilities including golf, tennis, bowls, sailing and cycling. A shared walking/biking pathway runs for many kilometres along the coast. Ulverstone has excellent facilities for children with playgrounds, beaches, a newly built bike and skate part and a planetarium. Goat Island is a terrific place to take the kids to play pirates in the secluded caves.
Basil has left an information sheet about the region on the Rare Earth Tasmania website and on display at Black Bluff View Retreat.
