With a sandy beach and a private deepwater jetty the location is perfect for kayaking, fishing, boating and swimming or just soaking up the sun under the frangipane tree. In the evening enjoy a glass of wine on the deck, in front of the open fire or around the waterfront fire pit.
Indoor-outdoor living means you can step out of the living/dining room, and onto a wooden deck that features an al fresco dining table with gas BBQ and stunning views of the waterway and the national park.
The open plan interior features an eclectic mix of nautical antiques, shells and fishing collectables gathered from travels and forages along the beach and original artworks by your host Sophie.
Ideally suited to a couple, the cottage can expand to accomodate up to six and welcomes children and families or friend groups.
The kitchen is fully equipped with all the necessaries for basic or gourmet cooking.
We love animals and your furry friends are welcome to join you on your holiday.
Kayaks, paddle boards and fishing gear provided and many other extras can be arranged locally including catering, local tours and boat trips, massages, fishing charters, whale watching etc.
Visit Ku-ring-gai national park with its beautiful nature and wildlife, bush walks and indigenous heritage sites, or let the wildlife come to you - lorikeets, cockatoos, king parrots, currawongs and kookaburras are frequent visitors to the deck.
Rest, relax and reset in a peaceful retreat from the hustle and bustle of the mainland. Escape to paradise!
I am an artist by trade, I trained in traditional painting techniques in Italy and specialise in portraits. I was born and bred in Pittwater and can never stay away for long, I have salt water in my veins! I love to travel, read, listen to music and paint. I have too many boats ! I like a cup of twinings earl grey in the morning and a glass of wine in the evening by the fire, watching the evening come in across the water.
I don't live on the property but am happy to meet you on arrival if you wish and to answer any questions and provide you with some recommendations for your stay or if you feel like company and a deep dive I'm happy to regale you with salty island stories over a coffee or glass of wine.
Scotland Island is a unique water access community. One of only two residential islands in Sydney. We have the best of both worlds. A sense of being separate from the noise, and bustle of the mainland, but within easy reach of its movies, restaurants, cafes, shops, bars and music venues. We are part of the Ku-ring-gai National Park and there are many beautiful bushwalks, scenic lookouts, waterfalls, secret beaches and indigenous heritage sites on our doorstep.
