Hi there, we are Donna and Karl and would love the opportunity to welcome you to Koolinda by the Bay, Broome WA - your home from home. We're very passionate about tourism in Broome and providing guests with memorable holiday experiences. We have lived in Broome for many years and have been living in Perth since 2011, with our family. We named 'Koolinda' after a famous motor vessel, SS Koolinda. Built for coastal trade with all the modern ship trimmings of the day, she was recognised as the queen of motor vessels during the 1930s halcyon years of State Shipping. Along with Kybra and Kangaroo 1, Koolinda serviced Western Australia's South and North-West parts. All three ships were considered vital lifelines between Fremantle and Darwin. Koolinda is a beautiful three-story 'home from home' for you to retreat to and rejuvenate.
Koolinda is located on the eastern side of the Broome Peninsula with stunning ocean views of Roebuck Bay. This is the “real Broome” – the old part of town close to Town Beach and China Town where the pearling luggers used to sail in with their catch of pearls. It is serene and a great location to use as a base to see Broome and surrounds. Within walking distance of Koolinda is Town Beach Reserve that has a cafe and waterpark, Broome Historical Museum, Matso Brewery. We hope you and your family/friends enjoy the experience of staying at Koolinda just as much as our family does.
