Neighbourhood information

Caves Beach is a residential suburb in Lake Macquarie area about 1.5hrs drive north of Sydney, 30 minutes south from Newcastle and 40 minutes south east from the Hunter Valley with its famous wine growing regions. This is an unspoiled location, rated highly by American Express Travel and Leisure Magazine as one of the top 30 most affordable beach getaways worldwide. The Caves Beach Hotel is next door, there's a takeaway, Gelato, Spar Express, coffee shop all within a few meters walk. The coast line is lined with national parks, public open spaces, unspoiled beached and few private facilities to capture a special function. Just inland is Lake Macquarie which is more than twice the size of Sydney Harbour and offers extensive shoreline for bushwalking, boating, fishing and water sports. There is a car park space provided. Also there is a bus stop just outside the door.
