My partner and I had a wonderful time relaxing in the gorgeous cabin on our lovely hosts (Kim and Dean) property. The complimentary wood stocked daily for use in the pot belly fireplace was a lovely touch. We were also greeted by three horses in...

We love staying in repurposed old buildings and this former butcher's shed is one of the most comfortable and interesting B&Bs we have stayed in. The location was quiet and the surrounding farmlands were beautiful. My husband enjoyed spending time...

A clever renovation with lovely touches incorporating the original structure. 'Off grid' but still has all the mod cons you'd expect. Fireplace was great and Dean did all the hard work to ensure we had enough wood. Made friends with Rosie the...

Welcome to our 20 acre property just outside of the village of Woodenbong in northern NSW. We offer our guests self-catering accommodation in a refurbished 90 year old farm building overlooking the glorious McPherson Ranges on the Qld/NSW border just 2 hrs south of Brisbane or west of the Gold Coast and close to Mt Lindsay and Mt Barney for those people who like to walk. The building has been designed for couples and we can also provide a fold out bed suitable for an extra child or adult. The cottage has an inbuilt kitchen with a new gas cooktop, fridge and microwave; all cutlery and crockery is supplied; a deluxe queen size bed with linen supplied; a bathroom with a shower and towels supplied and soap, shampoo, conditioner, etc.. The cottage has a wood heater for cold nights and a fan for warmer days. Most of our guests like to sit on the deck and enjoy the view of the everchanging mountains; listen to the birds; and watch the horses and cows graze. My husband, Dean, has a great shed filled with items he has collected over the years. He is happy to work his two heavy horses for your enjoyment and show you his leather workshop where he makes heavy horse harness.
I am a retired Primary School teacher and have lived in the district for the last 20 years. My husband, Dean is a local and has lived in Woodenbong most of his life.
Woodenbong is a small village of about 350 people. Originally settled by farmers and timber workers. The Woodenbong timber mill closed in 2010. The main occupation now is cattle farming and there are a couple of dairies in the area. The village has a chemist, Post Office, Real Estate Agency, Arts and Crafts shop, Hardware store, grocery store, petrol station, take away food shop, Woodenbong Hotel and Lynda's Pitstop cafe. We also have a Police Station, Rural Fire Service, Ambulance Service and Multi-Purpose Hospital at Urbenville which is situated 12 kms away. The area is surrounded by National Parks and State Forests and has stunning scenery. The nearest large towns are Boonah, Beaudesert and Kyogle.
