Absolutely everything. The location was peaceful, the room spacious and comfortable, exceptionally clean and beautifully fitted and decorated. Thank you for proper sheets and bedding, not the annoying double sheet over the doona thing you get...

The breakfast was excellent and the location was good, although a little bleak at this time of year. Bronwyn and David were perfect hosts even to the point of providing afternoon tea on arrival.

Yallambee is a small intimate guesthouse that specialises in good service and great food in a contemporary but comfortable setting. We have been operating for near on 15 years having left Sydney for an early tree change. The rooms - both guest bedrooms and living areas are contemporary, large, uncluttered and furnished with a mixture of contemporary and simple unembellished antiques. The acre of grounds are terraced and landscaped - simple mass plantings and hedges very calm to the eye. The large grassy lawns attract the kangaroos, wombats, native geese and other birdlife and occasionally even guests using our bocce, croquet set or soccer ball!
Small establishments can offer an entirely different level of service to large Hotels or Motels where you can be anonymous and only connect with staff on check in and check out. We are both hospitality professionals who try to understand our guests needs and meet them - whether it is booking a restaurant for a special occasion, suggesting interesting things to do whilst visiting, organising transport to the wedding they are attending or just making sure guests special dietary requirements are catered - anything to make our guests stay in our beautiful area relaxing and enjoyable.
Yallambee is set on an acre of grounds in a quiet area next to the Morton National Park in Bundanoon. It is tranquil, quiet and often the noisiest thing is the birdsong in the morning! Most of our neighbours don't have fences so the native animals come up from the National Park in the afternoon and free range around the neighbourhood. It is not uncommon to see kangaroos hopping across the road or in cooler weather, wombats grazing on the grass verge in the evenings. You can walk to the Mark Morton and Riverview Lookouts or the Glow Worm Glen from the doorstep, or a short two minute drive can see you at one of the many lookouts or the start of the waterfall walks in the central section of the park. Bundanoon is also the accommodation hub for three state forests that are renown for great mountain bike trails and specialised single track riding, and we are but a short drive to wineries, farm gates, galleries, retail centres, open gardens, and only an hour drive away to the coastal beaches of Kiama and Bombo, and 10 minutes more to the white sands of Jervis Bay. A convenient base to explore the region or a quiet place to recharge.
