As a host and a Bruges native, I am delighted to welcome you as guests to the 3 Kings .
I was born in Bruges and spent my youth there. Back then, there weren't many tourists. My job drew me to the big cities of Brussels, Ghent and Antwerp.
But the beauty of Bruges called me back when I married Anne-Marie who is from Ostend. We were able to raise our son Thibault there in safety in a warm nest.
Coming home to Bruges was the best decision of our lives.
Every day we feel privileged being able to stroll around Bruges and discover things that may have been here for centuries.
Bruges is like an onion : it has so many layers waiting to be explored !
That's why we never get bored of Bruges!
3 Queens is situated in a typical Brugean neighbourhood.
The Markt, the heart of the city, is at exactly 0,6 miles. A 15-20 minute walk.
To get there, you enter the old town of Bruges through The Gentpoort . (Gate of Ghent)
The Gate of Ghent is one of four remaining medieval city gates. An entrance for foreigners, a border with the outside world for the townspeople of Bruges. The gate was a part of the city’s defences as well as a passageway for the movement of products and merchandise. Note the statue in the niche above the roadway: this is Saint Adrian, who was believed to protect the city during times of plague. The Ghent Gate is at its most beautiful in the evening, when it is literally in the spotlight.
Just walk further through the Queen Astridpark right into the heart of the city. This botanical park lies in the shadow of Saint Magdalene’s Church and is blessed with many imposing very old trees. And before you know it ,you will stand on the Fish Market ,the Market place and the Burg . This square is my favourite and hides the Holy blood.
On walking distance you will find a great butchery, bakery and CArrefour Market.
A bit further you’ll find bigger supermarkets like Aldi and Colruyt.
Everything you need!
Parking problems ? None since we offer you a free and private parking space at 400 meters from 3 Queens.
