I from Oregon, in the USA. I've been living in Brazil over 15 years. I work with organic agriculture, Waldorf education, and environmental education. I love Brazilian music and culture, and participate in several local popular cultural groups. I am available for advice about special trips or sites to see. I can help arrange cultural tours, boat trips, hikes, etc. If you need anything just ask!

Property information

CASA Ecologica Paraty has two beautiful and ecologically built homes. Whenever possible ecological material like bamboo, and refurbished hard wood were used. An organic vegetable garden and orchard provide a delightful space for relaxing in the sun or doing morning meditation or yoga. Within walking distance to the historic center, but also immersed in nature, a stay at C.A.S.A provides comfort with convenience. Solar water heating, natural ventilation, natural light from the many windows, grey water recycling, use of ecological cleaning products, composting and waste recycling mean that at CASA you will relax knowing that you are doing your part for the planet and reducing the negative impacts of tourism! Part of an ecological education project CASA (Connection, Learning, Sustainability and Art) has the mission of providing an ecologically sustainable lodging experience as well as bringing courses and workshops in the area of environmental sustainability and well-being to the local population. For those arriving by car, there is free street parking available. For those on foot, we have bikes available for rent. Come join us in this mission while enjoying Paraty!

Neighbourhood information

Safe residential neighborhood, conveniently located near stores, market and historic center. Within a 5 min walk, there is a small market and bakery. A lovely stroll along the river will take you to the historic center in 20 min. Within 15 min by foot, large markets and restaurants. Bus stops are 10 min by foot.
