Some kind words from recent guests "Great cozy cabin just off the beaten path. Perfect stop along the way or it would be great for a quiet week away! We had a great stay and definitely recommend it!"
Hi, we are a couple who love the Alberta prairies and peaceful country living. We've been happily married for 30 years and have 5 children, and 4 grandchildren. John has spent many years as a carpenter and renovator and Jacquelien loves decorating and home decor. The cabin was a fun project of designing, building and decorating together to provide a comfortable guesthouse for our parents. We recently decided to receive other guests to our cabin. and look forward to meeting many new people. We love where we live and can give many great recommendations of things to do and see in the area. We also enjoy yard work and gardening. The cottage is 100 ft away from the main house on our property. We are available if you should need anything, but if you are looking for a private, quiet retreat you will definitely find that here.
Our acreage is spacious and quiet with sweeping views of the prairies all the way to the Rocky Mountains in the distance. Enjoy walking and biking the quiet country roads or relaxing on the front porch, listening to birds and crickets and maybe catching a glimpse of a unique wildlife visitor or a gorgeous prairie sunset
Fort Macleod itself is only minutes away, a beautiful and unique historic town with many interesting things to experience. Historic Main Street with it’s amazing architecture dating back to the early 1900’s offers unique shops, cafés, antique stores, the Empress Theatre, a brewery and more. The Fort Museum was founded by the NWMP in 1874 who came to protect Canadian sovereignty in the West and squelch the illegal American whisky trade. It was the first permanent police post in the British North-West – a must see! Play a round of golf on one of the oldest golf courses in the west or visit Head Smashed in Buffalo Jump (a UNESCO World Heritage site).
