Located near Barrington (the lobster capital of Nova Scotia) this beautiful, renovated guesthouse is situated in Clarks Harbour on Cape Sable Island. The island is pristine, with wide beaches, blue, clear water and fresh, ocean air. Clarks Harbour is on the famous Lighthouse Route that meanders the South Shore of the province. Starting in Halifax and Peggy's Cove, the Lighthouse Route ends, appropriately, at one of Nova Scotia's most dramatic and historically significant lighthouses in Yarmouth. The Yarmouth Light stands on the rocky point of Cape Forchu, named by Samuel de Champlain in 1604. Quiet and secluded, The East Wind Guesthouse is an ideal spot to stay along the route. The two story, Cape Cod style home, is original to the island and has been restored to a modern, dream guesthouse. Gorgeous, open plan interiors with large kitchen, living and dining and bath/laundry on main floor. The second floor features two cozy bedrooms, lounge and large queen suite overlooking the ocean and harbour.
Hosting visitors since 2016, our guesthouse is newly renovated to introduce visitors to beautiful Cape Sable Island and the scenic South Shore area of Nova Scotia. Let me help you get the most out of your visit - I can recommend top sites in Nova Scotia, off-the-beaten-track experiences and plan a personal trip to suit your timing and interests.
