I am a native of Horní Blatná, so I am pleased to recommend some interesting places in the vicinity that are worth visiting.
In Horní Blatná, you will find several intriguing establishments, including restaurants, pubs, and a stylish ice cream parlor in the Art Nouveau style.
All of these are within walking distance from the house.
The "U náměstí" apartment in Horní Blatná is situated in the picturesque mountain town of Horní Blatná, which is the heart of the Ore Mountains with a rich history.
Within walking distance, you'll find the educational trail "Blatenský vodní příkop" (Blatná Water Ditch), as well as another educational trail around Blatenský vrch, passing by the former mines Vlčí jámy and Ledová jáma. The latter is unique because it retains snow for most of the year. From Blatenský vrch, there is also a well-known toboggan run that ends in the same street where the apartment is located.
In the vicinity of Horní Blatná, there are several excellent ski slopes. For more experienced skiers, I recommend Božídarský Neklid (just be cautious about the chosen route, as not all are maintained in winter). For less demanding slopes, there's the Potůčky, Pernink, or Plešivec ski resorts.
Horní Blatná is crossed by several cross-country skiing trails, and in the summer, there are cycling routes.
For a summer vacation, I recommend visiting Černé jezírko (note: locals often refer to it as "Koupák"). The Blatenský vodní příkop, mentioned earlier, flows into it, collecting water from meadows and peat bogs from Boží Dar to Horní Blatná, giving the water a dark red color.
On your way there, you'll come across another significant tourist attraction in Horní Blatná: Vavřincova lavička, a gigantic bench.
For history enthusiasts, Horní Blatná has its own information center and museum.
