Wuppertal - A city as an artificial product: in 1929, the Rhineland municipalities of Barmen, Elberfeld, Ronsdorf, Vohwinkel, Cronenberg and Beyenburg were merged. The entity has been called Wuppertal since 1930. Today, the capital of the Bergisches Land region has 350,000 inhabitants. Our sights: The famous Wuppertal suspension railroad, which was used by Tuffi the elephant and Emperor Wilhelm II. Wuppertal is also a great place to go out. Instead of the old town, everyone is drawn to the Luisenviertel.
