Our charming holiday home is situated in a large garden with old trees and a 180° mountain view in Almau, a district of Übersee, right in the middle between Lake Chiemsee and the Chiemgau Alps, close to the Tiroler Achen. Bavaria at it's best. The house was completely renovated in 2022 and then lovingly furnished and decorated. It was especially important to us to highlight the unique location and the view, as well as to capture and preserve the charm of the region and that of an old house. Here, you can wonderfully relax and enjoy your vacation. The location of the holiday apartment and the surrounding area offer you an incredible variety of options: water sports, hiking, cycling or mountain biking in the summer, and skiing or cross-country skiing in the winter. If you’ve had enough of the rural idyll, the journey to Salzburg or Munich is not far, making it perfect for a city trip.

The house was built in the early 1960s by my grandmother, the old Kink farmer, as a so-called "Austragshäusl" and has been continuously in family ownership since then. As a child, I spent many unforgettable weekends and holidays here in the countryside with my Aunt Leni and experienced many adventures. I want to preserve and pass on this very special atmosphere and sense of the region. In 2021/2022, we completely gutted the house with a lot of hard work and passion, and it was extensively renovated technically, visually, and energetically, followed by loving furnishing and decoration. It was particularly important to us to modernize the house in a contemporary way while highlighting its unique location and capturing and preserving the charm of the region and that of an old bungalow. We hope we have succeeded in this, and that you can enjoy the ambiance and spend unforgettable vacation days in Almau. Since the end of 2022, we have been enthusiastic hosts and look forward to welcoming every guest to whom we can introduce the Chiemgau area, the people, and the culture.

The Achendamm is perfect for a car-free and stress-free bike ride to the beautiful Chiemsee beach or directly into the Chiemgau Alps through the Achental valley. The center of Übersee, with all the shops for daily needs as well as some restaurants and attractions, is about 3 km away and can be easily reached by a short drive, on foot, or by bike. If you’ve had enough of the rural idyll, the way to Salzburg or Munich is not far, making it perfect for a city trip: Übersee is located between Munich (about 100 km) and Salzburg (about 50 km) and is very well accessible by car via the A8 or by train on the Salzburg-Munich route. Salzburg Airport is only a 30-minute drive away, while Munich Airport is about 90 minutes away. In both cases, there is an excellent train connection that takes you directly to Übersee station."
