With two bedrooms, luxurious bathroom and large living room/kitchen area as well as outdoor terrace, the apartment also has a cedar wood barrel sauna (for an extra fee).
The first bedroom has a double bed, and the second bedroom has a single bed. We can also give you a pull-out bed, and in a pinch the couch can also be used, so we can accommodate up to 5 guests.
Originally from Detroit, I now live in an idyllic German village called Bruschied with my husband, where we run a family business. We travel the world for work and adventure, but we are always happy to come home to Bruschied, which we think is the prettiest little spot in all of southwestern Germany.
With Booking, we have had some amazing travel experiences (to name just a few: Laos, Cambodia, Portugal, and Malta) and have made enduring friendships with guests we've hosted here at home.
When I'm not traveling or hosting, I work as a translator and university instructor. I also write long-form travel essays at "Travelographie."
We speak German and English and we love welcoming people from all around the world to our holiday apartment. We look forward to hearing your stories from the road – and sharing ours with you.
The village of Bruschied is perched on a mountainside, overlooking a sweeping valley below. We think it’s the most beautiful spot in southwestern Germany. Step out onto the terrace for a stunning view of the valley directly below, and enjoy the cedarwood sauna with a glass panel on the back that overlooks the valley, too.
There are dozens of interesting and scenic hikes literally minutes from your front door, including a hike up to the Teufelsfels and 360° viewing platform, and down into the valley to the Schmidtburg (medieval castle ruins), a slate mine, and a Celtic settlement. In addition to hiking, there are also excellent bike trails, as well as fishing, horseback riding, and archery.
If you are interested in venturing further afield, Bruschied is within an hour's drive of Koblenz, Mainz, Wiesbaden, Trier, and Kaiserslautern. The attractions of the Mosel and Rhine rivers are also both under an hour's drive away. We'll give you tips to make your visit here unforgettable.
The Frankfurt Hahn airport is about 25 minutes drive from Bruschied, and Frankfurt is 1 hr. 10 minutes away. Bruschied is not conveniently served by public transportation, so it's best to have a car.
