What makes Klosterberghaus special is the care and intention that went into every detail. We designed the apartment ourselves—not just the layout, but the interior as well—to create a space where guests can feel immediately at home. Whether you’re here to rest, reconnect, or explore the region, the apartment is designed to support that.
The apartment combines comfort and modern amenities with a calm, uncluttered aesthetic. It features a spacious, open-plan living area, a bright bedroom with quality bedding, and a luxurious waterfall shower in the bathroom. The kitchen is fully equipped for everyday cooking and includes a large refrigerator with an ice dispenser and chilled water—perfect for longer stays or warm days.
Outside, guests have access to a private terrace and a large garden that invites quiet mornings or relaxed evenings in the fresh air. The property is tucked away on a limited-access road, which gives it a sense of privacy and peace that our guests truly appreciate.
From the start, our goal was to create more than just a place to stay—we wanted to offer a space where people can slow down, breathe deeply, and enjoy each other’s company. That’s what Klosterberghaus is all about: a modern, peaceful retreat where everything has been thoughtfully designed to help you feel at ease.
Klosterberghaus is owned and operated by Sarah and Jeremy Whittaker. We love welcoming guests from across Germany, Europe, and beyond—and we’re always happy to hear how at home people feel during their stay. It’s a joy for us to see others enjoy the space we’ve created.
Many guests tell us the apartment feels bright, modern, peaceful—even healing. That means a lot to us. We’ve worked to make Klosterberghaus a place where people can truly relax while still being well connected to everything they need.
Whether you’re here for rest, adventure, or a bit of both, we’re honored to share this special corner of Elchingen with you—and we’re grateful for the wonderful feedback from our guests who return again and again.
Guests love the peaceful atmosphere and natural beauty surrounding Klosterberghaus. Located on a quiet residential street in historic Oberelchingen, the neighborhood offers a true sense of calm while remaining well connected to everything you need. On clear days, you can even enjoy views stretching as far as the Alps.
The area is rich in history—most famously, the Battle of Elchingen took place here in 1805 during the Napoleonic Wars. The French victory under Marshal Ney was so significant that “ELCHINGEN” is inscribed on the Arc de Triomphe in Paris. Today, guests can walk the grounds of this historic battlefield, just minutes away.
The beautiful Baroque Klosterkirche Oberelchingen is a short walk from the house and remains a highlight for visitors. Just beyond are walking and cycling trails that lead through forests, rolling fields, and along the Danube River—ideal for nature lovers and those seeking fresh air and space to unwind.
Despite the quiet setting, Klosterberghaus is very well connected. The A8 Autobahn is just minutes away, offering easy access to Ulm (11 km), LEGOLAND® Deutschland (22 km), and beyond. Oberelchingen has its own train station with connections to regional and long-distance routes. Grocery stores, bakeries, and shops are all within a six-minute drive.
Guests consistently praise the combination of calm surroundings and convenience. Whether you’re exploring local history, enjoying a meal at a nearby traditional Bavarian restaurant, or simply relaxing on the terrace, Klosterberghaus offers the best of both worlds: a serene home base in one of Bavaria’s most quietly fascinating corners.
Last but not least, the apartment is ideally located for those wishing to visit Ulm, Allgäu, Bodensee or Lake Constance, and even Stuttgart and Munich.
