The KNAUS Campingpark Bleckede/ Elbtalaue is located in Alt Garge / Bleckede approx. 30 km from Lüneburg and only 80 km from Hamburg in the middle of the Lower Saxony Elbe Valley Biosphere Reserve, a true paradise for cyclists, water sports enthusiasts, hikers and anglers. The biosphere reserve is part of the transnational UNESCO biosphere reserve ‘Flusslandschaft Elbe’ and is characterised by unique floodplain landscapes and idyllic villages.
The well-known and popular ‘Elbe Cycle Path’, the ‘German Stork Route’ and the beautiful, natural surroundings invite you to go hiking, cycling and walking, where you may encounter the odd stork, crane or white-tailed eagle and, in winter, thousands of geese and swans on the flooded Elbe meadows.
A very special leisure activity for the whole family is the bicycle trolley: on disused tracks of the works railway, you can ride with muscle power and up to four people through forests, meadows and fields in the idyllic landscape of the Elbe valley, far away from the noise of the road.
The picturesque old town of Lüneburg with its narrow alleyways and the border triangle between Lauenburg, Boizenburg and Bleckede, which you can explore on a leisurely boat trip, are also worth a visit.
The Lüneburg Heath Wildlife Park is also just under an hour's drive away and, with more than 1,000 animals, is a real highlight for the whole family all year round. Kodiak bears, wolves, snow leopards and bald eagles are just some of the animals that await visitors there.
