The Knaus Campingpark Haren is idyllically situated in the green countryside of the historic shipping town of Haren (Ems). The park's own natural lake is a wonderful place to relax and go fishing. Meanwhile, younger guests can let off steam in the playground or explore the 5-hectare site with a bobby car, balance bike or scooter from the campsite's own hire centre.
There are also many sights to discover and adventures to experience around Haren: A visit to the Schloss Dankern leisure park is certainly a great experience for the whole family. In addition to various playgrounds, pony rides and a rollercoaster, there is also a water bobsleigh run and an outdoor pool waiting for you.
Emsland is a real paradise for cycling and hiking enthusiasts. Explore the cross-border Moor-Veenland and discover the unique flora and fauna in the Bourtanger Moor Nature Park World Heritage Site. What was once the largest contiguous raised bog in Europe still delights visitors today with extraordinary landscapes that stretch to the horizon and beyond. At the end of your excursion, you should not miss Bourtange Fortress. The lovingly restored fortress town is now an open-air museum in a class of its own and shows everyday life in 1742, with numerous actors in historical uniforms practising old crafts or faithfully re-enacting changes of guard and battles.
Technology fans should not miss the Meyer shipyard in Papenburg. In the visitor centre of one of the world's most modern shipyards, you can book various tours or explore the site on your own and follow the journey from steel plate to finished cruise liner.
