Our generous vacation apartment is located on the upper floor of our two-family house, nestled on the edge of the forest. From here, you have an incredible, unobstructed view of Annweiler, the majestic Trifels Castle, and the striking Asselstein rock. It's exceptionally quiet here, with no through traffic, yet you're just a short stroll away from all the shops and the historic town center.
Our large property includes a private woodland, ensuring you'll find plenty of sunny and shady spots to relax in at any time of day. The apartment features a west-facing balcony that enjoys sun from noon onward and can be shaded with a retractable awning. Additionally, a covered veranda offers a beautiful spot to watch the sunset over the valley. This area can also be shaded, providing a pleasant retreat even on the warmest days. We live on the ground floor and are always on hand to assist our guests if you need anything.
Completely renovated and newly furnished in 2024/2025, the apartment is filled with natural light and has an open feel while still being completely private. We used natural building materials and chose to forgo carpets, making the rooms a great option for allergy sufferers. (We poured a lot of heart into this renovation and hope our guests will feel that love.)
Within a roughly 10-minute walk, you'll find everything you need: a supermarket with a bakery, a drugstore, several pharmacies, the train and bus stations, and the historic town center with its charming restaurants and tourist information office.
For your convenience, a garage and a parking space are available right in front of the apartment. Arriving by train is also a breeze, and we can even arrange luggage transport for you upon request.
Having recently retired, we are now dedicating ourselves to a new chapter and are very excited to welcome you to our newly renovated vacation home. Please feel free to reach out with any questions; our goal is to ensure you feel completely at ease and comfortable during your stay.
Our leisure time is spent actively enjoying nature through hiking, climbing, cycling, and gardening. You'll find that nothing compares to a fresh tomato picked straight from the plant.
We love to cook, often using ingredients from our own garden, and have a passion for international cuisines. We've traveled extensively ourselves and are happy to share our love for the beautiful Southern Palatinate, as well as our interest in other cultures and landscapes.
Annweiler is in a prime location. Its historic old town is perfect for a stroll, and because it's surrounded by forest, it's always a few degrees cooler here on hot days than in the city of Landau, which is only 12 km away.
For your daily needs, you'll find everything you need in Annweiler, with most places within walking distance. You're also welcome to use our bikes.
All the amenities in Annweiler and nearby Landau are easy to reach, including weekly markets, concerts, theaters, shopping, a climbing gym, a zoo, cinemas, bowling, and more.
If you enjoy hiking, cycling, or climbing, you'll find what you're looking for in the Palatinate Forest. Many tours start right here in Annweiler.
The bizarre sandstone rock formations are a unique feature of the area. Castles and viewpoints offer expansive views of the countryside, and numerous hiking lodges invite you to stop for a break.
Beer gardens and the Palatinate vintners along the Wine Route are happy to welcome guests. In the autumn, the wine festivals are a huge draw, local restaurants celebrate "Keschde" (chestnuts), and chestnut lovers will return from their hikes with full backpacks.
