Beautiful, separated living quarters in a traditional partially renovated thatched roof "Husmann" house with a large garden in the middle of the pastures at Wilstermarsch. In this offer you rent the entire apartment aka living quarters which is half of the house exclusively for yourself.
I am an artist in Flethsee and Hamburg and live in the apartment myself when I'm not in Hamburg or traveling.
Welcoming all guests personally is a huge part of being a host. If this is not possible, there will hopefully be a warm welcome and the introduction from somebody else. But there is always opportunity to check in yourself. Although probably I#ll be arround sooner or later. If not, I can be reached at any time via cell phone.
The house is located in the middle of horse meadows (which by the way will not be fertilized) in the outdoor area between Wilster-Au and the Baltic canal. It is approx. 4km to the banks of the Elbe and 3km to the nearest shop, bakery, restaurant or doctor. For bulk shopping, there are shopping centers in Wilster, Brunsbüttel or Burg (each approx. 11km). Excursion destinations such as Wacken, Friederichskoog, Büsum, St. Peter-Ording, Friederichstadt, Eiderstedt, Burg and Neumünster can also be reached from here in under an hour. There also is a train from Wilster to Hamburg (1,5h) Sylt or Amrum (2,5-3h). There is an HVV bus stop and a small village gas station in the immediate vicinity. The Wilster Au (3km) is ideal for paddling. There are various places for swimming.
The Wilstermarsch is one of the four Holstein Elbe marshes and lies northeast of the Elbe between its tributary Stör, the Kiel Canal and the Geestrand in the Steinburg district. At 3.54 m below sea level, Neuendorf-Sachsenbande in the Wilstermarsch is the lowest accessible place in Germany. The Wilsterau flows through the marsh; It is drained, among other things, via the Große Feldwettern and the Kampritt Wettern. The landmark of Wilstermarsch is the post mill in Honigfleth, which was previously used for drainage. There used to be around 350 such mills in the Wilstermarsch.
In addition to extensive exploration tours of Meldorf, Husum or St. Peter Ording, the Wilstermarsch is also ideal for shorter bicycle and canoe tours around Wilster, Brokdorf and Wewelsfleth. Half-day tours to Friederichskoog, Burg, Wacken and Neumünster are recommended.
